My work engages in a dialogue between spirit an earthly reality; the observed and the imagined.

 

​Rooted in reverence for the ancients and modernists, the work manifests.

 

Over the years, as educator of fine art and art history, I have become "acquainted "with and 'attached" to the many figures portrayed over the centuries. Both figure and nature, so eloquently depicted by the masters, seem to exist in my memory and my soul; a relationship of sorts.

 

Reinvention, a love for nature, and the continum of time inform the work. 

 

I am interested in the balance of figuration and abstraction, the shifting, the obliteration, the conversation, the construct.
